Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Maintains complete control of the balance sheet
- General ledger account reconciliations at an advanced level
- Monitors cash flow in accordance with client needs
- Creates job cost and contract reporting for Government contracts
- Responsible for timing and quality of closing process/cycle; prepares complex financial reporting
- Prepares and reviews monthly financials and reporting packages to include forecast schedules and dashboards
- Conducts research & analysis; billed and unbilled receivable analysis and revenue recognition
- Develops and manages indirect rate structures, assists with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, incurred cost submissions, and other duties as required; handles inquiries and information requests
- Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems
- Supports assigned clients with cost-effective, accurate, and compliant accounting services at an advanced level
- Manages relationships with clients and auditors
- Tasking and deliverables handled with little to no direct supervision
- Able to support, mentor, and train junior accountants
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience required
- Proficiency with general ledger, job costing, GAAP compliance a must
- Strong understanding of Government contracting including compliance with the FAR, DCAA Compliance, and indirect rates; knowledge of Unanet and Quickbooks desired
- Highly organized. Tedious about record-keeping, file organization, etc.; able to handle competing deliverables with various levels of complexity
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects within cost and schedule; ability to manage and ensure the quality of work of support staff
- Travel to customer locations required for customers within the local area
- Extremely computer literate, strong MS Excel, and MS Word skills are a must. Experience with Office365 is a plus
- Strong problem-solving aptitude required; must be able to analyze client needs & leverage accounting systems effectively to create value to customers
- Must be able to isolate issues and define problems clearly and articulate solutions in a clear, concise, and consultative manner
- A motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task, problem solve, and take initiative
- Bachelor's degree in accounting desired
- US Citizenship required to be eligible for security clearance to support cleared clients
