We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-experienced Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced Accounting + Finance team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial management, contributing directly to the overall success and growth of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a preference for those with construction industry experience. CPA certification is highly desirable, and familiarity with QuickBooks will be a significant advantage.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all aspects of the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
2. Preparing and posting journal entries, with meticulous attention to detail.
3. Providing robust audit support, including the preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
4. Processing 1099s and maintaining comprehensive records of all transactions.
5. Reviewing and approving project requisitions, ensuring all requests are in line with budgetary constraints and strategic objectives.
6. Assisting with financial analysis and reporting, contributing to the development of forecasts, budgets, and financial plans.
7. Continuously reviewing and improving accounting and financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in QuickBooks or a similar accounting software.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of the organization.
7. The capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of work.
8. A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
