What You’ll Do
General Accounting
- Lead and own the full accounting cycle, from accounts payable/receivable to payroll and financial reporting.
- Balance budgets like a pro, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and that every dollar works its hardest.
- Keep our charts of accounts, financial records, and systems running like a well-oiled machine and audit ready.
- Track the life cycles of grants, ensuring funds are spent wisely and timelines are met.
- Prepare grant budgets, invoices, and budget-to-actual reports that would make any auditor smile.
- Serve as the go-to guru for grant compliance and partner with teams to ensure funding success.
- Manage accounts payable, vendor relations, and expense reports with precision and pizzazz.
- Ensure donations, invoices, and payments flow seamlessly through our financial systems.
- Process payroll flawlessly, ensuring every deduction and deferral is on point.
- Keep our 401(k)-program running smoothly, helping employees save for their future while staying compliant.
- Close the books with flair, keeping financials accurate and on time every month.
- Prep reports that help our CFO and leadership team make data-driven decisions.
- Keep assets, accruals, and balance sheets accurate and to the penny.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (or the right combo of education and experience).
- 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit setting.
- You know your way around GAAP, grant management, and financial reporting standards.
- You’re an Excel wizard and familiar with accounting software (NetSuite is a plus!).
- Detail-oriented with next-level organizational skills and the ability to juggle priorities like a pro.
- Knowledge of federal funding sources (HUD, DOJ, HHS) and nonprofit regulations is a major bonus!
- You’re a team player with stellar communication skills and a knack for building bridges between program and finance teams.
Our Investment in You
- Salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 - $85,000 / annually depending on experience.
