Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with extensive experience in month-end close processes and a deep understanding of profit and loss (P&L) cost analysis. This role is critical to the finance team and requires a professional who can ensure accurate financial reporting, manage financial data, and perform detailed cost analysis to support the business in making data-driven decisions. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with various departments to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial activities. This position has hybrid flexibility after 90 days.
Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close: Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
- P&L Analysis: Analyze profit and loss statements, identify key trends, and report on cost variances. Provide detailed commentary on P&L fluctuations to management.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and ensure that all accounts are properly reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted results, providing explanations for major deviations in revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing insights into historical financial data and future financial trends.
- Cost Accounting: Ensure proper allocation of costs and review cost accounting processes for accuracy. Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and other operating costs.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial transactions and reporting to safeguard company assets.
- Audit Support: Provide assistance during external and internal audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and accurate.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations and implement solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy.
