We are on the hunt for a seasoned, dynamic, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced team. This is a permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to work with a vibrant team of professionals and contribute significantly to our financial health. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, journal entries, and general ledger management. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data and will play a pivotal role in our month-end close process.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and review of income and expense accounts.
- Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts, working closely with various department heads to ensure accurate and timely projections.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential areas of improvement.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an accounting role, with a focus on financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.
- Proven experience in managing the month-end close process.
- Proficient in financial reporting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPA certification or progress towards certification is highly desirable.
