Senior Accountant, Central Accounting
What does a successful Senior Accountant do at Fiserv?
You will be responsible for performing daily operational accounting tasks, preparing/reviewing monthly journal entries, and preparing monthly general ledger account reconciliations in one of Central Accountings’ areas of accounting responsibility which includes Cash, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Cap Software, Lease (lessee) Accounting, Intercompany, Corporate, General Ledger and other related accounting areas as assigned.
What you will do:
+ Perform month-end accounting activities including journal entries, account analysis, reconciliations, and periodic reports in a timely manner
+ Work closely with personnel in other departments to ensure compliance with GAAP and Fiserv accounting policies.
+ Assist and review work from our Central Accounting India team for assigned general ledger accounts and areas of responsibility
+ Continuous process standardization, improvement, and streamlining
+ Extract and analyze data to ensure accuracy of financial transactions, account balances, and reporting
+ Participate in cross-functional projects as subject matter expert to support integration, regulatory, and/or other operational changes
+ Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting
What you will need to have:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
+ 3+ years experience in general ledger accounting including journal entry preparation, month-end close and account reconciliations
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
What would be great to have:
+ SAP experience and/or advanced MS Excel
+ Working knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP
+ MBA Degree
+ CPA
