Responsibilities for Sr. Accountant

• Assist with month-end close by preparing and posting journal entries and accruals.

• Assist in the reconciliation of intercompany activities, as applicable, with various subsidiaries to ensure the accuracy of intercompany transactions.

• Ability to manage prepaid expense, fixed assets and depreciation entries.

• Ensure balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled to support documentation and assist with complex reconciliations

• Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.

• Assist in documenting accounting processes, policies and procedures.

• Develop and maintain good relationships with company leaders and colleagues to provide an effective and collaborative working environment.

• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects, as requested.

• Assist with year-end financial audit activities and documentation

   

Qualifications for Sr. Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience (preferably in the Skilled Nursing industry)

• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization

• Deadline oriented, attention to detail and has a strong analytical and organizational skills

• Confident working independently and using initiative to guide through challenges

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience with other financial systems
