About the Job
A powerful, leading corporation in the Truck/Machinery industry is seeking a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT to join their growing accounting team in Piscataway, NJ.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of financial accounting and reporting functions, including but not limited to: performing the month end close and maintaining internal controls. Ensure consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements and tax data.
Responsibilities include:
1)Record financial transactions: Senior Accountants are responsible for recording and reconciling financial transactions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
2)Prepare financial statements: They prepare and analyze financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
3)Conduct audits: They may assist with internal or external audits, including preparing audit schedules, conducting audit testing and resolving any discrepancies.
4)Assist with budgets and forecasts: They may help prepare budgets and forecasts by analyzing financial data, identifying trends and making recommendations.
5)Ensure compliance with accounting standards: They must ensure that financial statements and reports comply with GAAP and any other accounting standards.
6)Provide support for tax fillings: They may assist with preparing and filing tax returns and maintaining tax records.
7)Communicate with stakeholders: They may communicate with other departments, vendors, or clients to resolve accounting issues or provide financial information.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
-Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
-Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems
-Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
-Knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP
-Experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a corporate environment
Salary and Benefits:
-Salary can go up to $110K, depending on level of experience Bonus Potential
-Benefits package includes: health insurance, dental insurance, 401K and paid time off
