Job Details
We are seeking a hungry Senior Accountant to join our firm. You will be an integral part of our finance team, responsible for managing a range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, general ledger, budgeting, account reconciliation, and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
2. Producing financial reports and statements, ensuring all reporting is compliant with regulations and guidelines.
3. Monitoring and analyzing accounting data to produce accurate, timely monthly financial reports and statements.
4. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
5. Coordinating and completing annual audits, providing recommendations for improving procedures and systems for initiating corrective actions.
6. Managing budget and forecast functions, including the development of financial and operational budgets.
7. Ensuring compliance with all internal processes and controls, as well as regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 3+ years of experience in senior accounting or a related role.
3. Proven experience GL accounting, financial reporting, financial statements, budgeting, account reconciliation, general ledger, internal controls, financial accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
4. Strong understanding of accounting theory and principles.
5. High proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with relevant accounting software.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
9. An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
