About the Staff Accountant role and the company
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with strong expertise in international accounting, foreign currency exchange, and indirect taxes, including VAT and GST. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of intercompany transactions, global regulatory compliance, and a passion for working in a dynamic, multinational environment. This role will involve close collaboration with finance and operational teams across various regions, providing insights and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our global financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant:
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions across international subsidiaries, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Handle foreign currency exchange accounting, including revaluation processes and FX impact analysis.
- Oversee indirect tax compliance, including VAT, GST, and other international taxes, working with local teams and external advisors.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidations and financial statement preparation.
- Collaborate with international teams to ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage month end reconciliations, journal entries and accruals. Opportunity to take on additional duties to support the Accounting Manager as needed.
- Provide guidance and expertise on international accounting policies and standards to support internal and external audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in our global financial operations.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on international accounting, foreign currency exchange, and VAT/GST.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and/or GAAP, with experience in multinational organizations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across global teams.
