We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing our financial operations, ensuring our projects are financially successful and our company maintains profitability. Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, your main duties will include:
1. Preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
2. Conducting regular ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and journal entries.
3. Overseeing accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
4. Evaluating and managing cost and inventory control systems and procedures.
5. Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
6. Analyzing and interpreting financial data and recommending changes to improve systems and financial performance.
7. Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
8. Directing internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
9. Forecasting and planning future budgeting needs.
10. Participating in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficient in accounting software, MS Excel, and other business-related software.
4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
5. Excellent understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
6. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
7. Exceptional communication and report-writing skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
10. Proven experience in financial project management and in establishing financial policies and procedures.
11. Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
12. Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to train and mentor junior staff.
