Senior Accountant

Large Fortune 1000 company in Dunwoody, GA has an opening in their Corporate Accounting group for a Senior Accountant.  They are looking for a dynamic, challenge seeking professional, with solid Accounting experience. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the oversight of the GL monthly, quarterly and annual close process
• Prepare Financial Statement and supporting schedules according to the month end close process and procedures
• Analyze the monthly Financial Statements and report variances
• Assist in the budgeting process for their assigned entity
• Prepare forecasts for upper managers upon close, quarter and year end cycle
• Work with other teams in corporate accounting to make sure work is flowing seamlessly, research any issues or concerns, and work together for resolutions
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Review bank statements
• Research and reconcile discrepancies
• Assist with the documentation and monitoring of monthly controls
• Audit and verify documents
• Assist with Financial Audits

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting desired, or related degree in Business or Finance
• CPA or tracking a plus
• Masters in Accounting a plus
• 2-4 years of progressive experience in Corporate accounting
• Public accounting experience a plus, or public/private mix
• Experience with process improvement desired
• System upgrades or implementation experience a plus
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
• Strong competency in a large Accounting systems such as Oracle or SAP a plus
• highly competent mathematical aptitude
• Strong aptitude for research and resolution
• Highly organized and detail oriented
