About the Job
Our client is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting system, with a specific focus on the manufacturing sector. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including production, engineering, and procurement, to gain a deep understanding of our operations and translate that knowledge into insightful financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire accounting cycle for manufacturing operations, including cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant industry standards.
- Manage month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Analyze variances between standard and actual costs, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Maintain a strong understanding of internal controls and implement procedures to safeguard financial data.
- Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest accounting pronouncements and industry best practices.
- May supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior corporate accounting role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and variance analysis.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
