Responsibilities:
1. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
2. Assist with month-end close procedures, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
3. Assist with year-end tasks, including audit preparation and tax filing.
4. Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
5. Manage the general ledger, identifying and correcting any discrepancies.
6. Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting procedures and refine financial reporting processes.
7. Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
8. Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed reports for management.
9. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
4. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
5. Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close, year-end tasks, journal entries, and general ledger.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
10. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
