MUST HAVE: 1) ACTIVE CPA AND 2) Finance/Wealth Management Industry Experience
**This company will consider:
a Senior Accountant, CPA : $100 - 115k Plus Bonus
OR an Accounting "Manager", CPA : $115 - $130k Plus Bonus
About the role
The Senior Accountant is extremely detail oriented and knows that no transaction is too small for your entire focus. Time management within the role is crucial because deadlines cannot slide. You’ll need to be able to communicate well with both peers and seniors, prompting them to action without being overbearing. You’ll be inquisitive and patient. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the operations of our business, ensuring our data and documentation is accurate at all times.
What you’ll do
*Reviews source documentation to ensure revenue has been correctly calculated.
*Generate invoices to advisors.
*Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
*Prepare monthly statements for advisors.
*Analyze and follow up on overdue accounts.
*Generate monthly revenue reports to management.
*Plan, assign, and review junior staff’s work.
*Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
*Prepare accounting records and financial reports per company standards.
*Provide financial expertise based on company financial commitments and forecasts.
*Perform reconciliations of accounts receivable.
*Prepare HQ and Advisor Payrolls
*Present account reconciliation summary to management on regular basis.
*Utilize software applications for company accounting operations.
*Perform record-keeping of all financial operations.
*Identify and resolve outstanding balances on monthly basis.
*Provide support on ad-hoc projects as required.
*Provide compensation guidance to advising staff
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager role, you must possess the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. CPA or equivalent professional designation is preferred.
3. 3+ years (Senior) OR 5+ ("Manager") of progressive accounting experience with in the finance/wealth management industry.
4. Proven experience with journal entries, consolidation, reconciliation, financial reporting, GAAP, FINRA, IFRS, and fiduciary responsibilities.
5. Strong understanding of accounting theory and ability to apply theory to practical applications.
6. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
9. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
10. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
