One of Vaco’s middle market PE backed clients is building out a presence in Dallas and is looking to onboard a Senior Accountant as part of that growth. Accountants will be responsible for the day to day full cycle accounting and bring process improvements/efficiencies to the table - they are looking to scale in the next couple of years.
Base compensation ranges from 90-110k
Day-to-day
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all entries.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other key accounts.
- Participate in the month-end closing process, including preparing accruals, prepaid expenses, and other adjusting journal entries.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts and monitor budget variances, providing insights to department leaders.
- Support external audit requirements by preparing requested documentation and maintaining accurate records. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and ensure timely payments and collections.
- Review and verify employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with the accounting team on ad-hoc projects, process improvements, and system enhancements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in accounting or related fields, with familiarity in general ledger functions, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) is a plus.
