Core On Site Client Office: 5 East 98th Street, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10029
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm EST
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists in documenting standard operating procedures and business rules for the department
- Communicates with superiors, peers, employees, internal and external customers, and others, as appropriate, on a regular basis, assuring proper flow of information
- Assists in resolving problems relating to all areas of Patient/Third Party billings and missing information
- Responds to patient complaints and escalated issues to ensure the appropriate action for resolution occurs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure continuous improvement in processes
- Maintains current knowledge of billing requirements, denials and system practices
- Obtain authorizations for office and OR procedures
- Obtain MRI authorizations
- Insurance verification
- Schedule peer to peer for the doctors for denied procedures
- Work appeals
- AR follow up
- Deposit to cashier weekly/biweekly

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in the medical field (i.e. medical terminology)
- Knowledge of obtaining prior authorizations and verification of insurance
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of online insurance carries portals
- Knowledge of Epic
- Computer skills, including Excel, Word, Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Hospital Systems
New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
