About the Job
Job Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Account Manager on behalf of our client, a leading company in the pharmaceutical, biopharma/biotech, advanced technologies, medical device, and environmental industries. This role will be responsible for supporting the sales and day-to-day servicing of key accounts, ensuring that customer delivery and documentation expectations are met, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. The Senior Account Manager will report to the Commercial Director and will oversee the account management team, driving process improvements and providing strategic analysis to leadership.
Pay: $64-75K Annually
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the daily operations of the Account Management department.
Oversee the mentoring and professional development of team members, providing upskilling opportunities.
Develop and implement process improvement plans to enhance the customer experience.
Set SMART goals, objectives, and KPIs for team members, and evaluate their progression on a monthly basis.
Oversee weekly activities for key accounts and serve as an escalation point for critical issues.
Generate meaningful reports using the ERP system and provide strategic analysis to the leadership team on a regular basis.
Investigate ongoing customer service issues and design comprehensive solutions to resolve them.
Manage top-tier customer accounts in conjunction with department leaders.
Organize and lead weekly touch-base meetings with the operations team to ensure smooth collaboration.
Act as a key liaison between Account Management, Business Development, Operations, and Quality teams.
Coordinate with Production Managers on open order schedules, ensuring that urgent orders are prioritized as needed.
Assist with business development opportunities and actively pursue upselling opportunities with customers.
Process sales and purchase orders within the ERP system.
Handle customer complaints and resolutions in a timely and effective manner.
Coordinate and attend SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) meetings.
Assist with stock control and inventory checks on a regular basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or a scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience leading an account management function, preferably in the chemical or chemical distribution industry.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Outstanding follow-up skills in both internal and external communications, customer resolution, order confirmation, and delivery status.
