Job Summary
The Senior Account Executive is an Account Services department position responsible for understanding the client’s strategy and owning the day-to-day management of projects. This is the level in Account Services where understanding the brand and communications strategies start to become more important. The Senior Account Executive takes a positive, collaborative approach to problem-solving. This person is expected to establish clear direction, set objectives, and distribute the workload in a well-planned and organized manner. The Senior Account Executive must maintain two-way dialogue with teams on the work and results, while also developing mentoring and management skill sets.Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)
- Builds and fosters relationships with clients and colleagues, providing value as a consultant on the brand and advertising needs
- Takes ownership of the project brief. Trains on creative brief, brand story, and brand strategies
- Owns a few projects that are more complex
- Develops presentation skills with experience on the projects that they own and other identified opportunities, e.g. agency POV, competitive analysis, etc.
- Demonstrates aptitude for managing a multi-functional team
- Consistently produce timely, high-quality internal and external communications
- Develop relationship with client, while attending client meetings, including Medical/Legal/Regulatory reviews
- Track budgets regularly and work with supervisors to meet monthly forecasts
- Continuously works to expand market knowledge and stay current with respect to advertising opportunities among various platforms, especially those valuable to assigned brands
- Stays current on emerging market trends and applies them to the brand planning and execution
- Oversees competitive analyses conducted by integrated agency team on the business or conducts analyses in the absence of an Account Coordinator
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the product, scientific data, strategies, and marketplaces
Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree required
- 2-3 years of experience in the advertising industry
- At least 1 year of Account Executive experience in an agency setting is required
- Strong professional presence—possesses positive, inspirational qualities that motivate internal team and evoke ease and confidence in clients
- Possesses superior verbal and written communication skills, both with clients and internal brand teams
- Positive, collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Can mindfully manage deadlines, multiple tasks, and challenges
- Ability to travel (locally and nationally) up to 25% of the time
- Willingness to go beyond what is described in the job description and be flexible for the team, and ultimately, the work
