Senior Accounting Analyst
Location: Concord, NC
Position Type: Full-time, Hybrid (4 days on-site)
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Analyst to join their manufacturing organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will oversee cost accounting operations and manage one direct report while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead and execute cost accounting functions, including standard cost maintenance, variance analysis, and product costing
•Supervise and mentor one direct report, providing guidance on daily accounting activities and professional development
•Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
•Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures to track manufacturing costs
•Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements
•Partner with operations teams to optimize cost control measures and improve financial performance
•Manage month-end close processes and prepare related journal entries
•Support annual budget planning and forecasting activities
•Assist in external audit preparations and responses
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
•Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
•Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience
•Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
•Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Strong leadership and communication abilities
•Experience with manufacturing accounting processes
Preferred Qualifications
•Manufacturing industry experience
•Experience with lean manufacturing principles
•Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements
