Field Service Representative
A local firm has a fantastic opportunity for a Field Service Representative. This role is for a skilled professional with high mechanical aptitude, honed customer service skills, and excellent communication abilities (verbal and written) that is comfortable servicing equipment at various client sites throughout the region. Field Service Representative role will require regular travel with some overnight stays for bigger jobs.
Field Service Representative Areas of Responsibility
Field Service Representative: Projects
- Pre-Assembly, part servicing, retrofit analysis of equipment at home site
- Installation or service of equipment at customer site
- Training of customer operators and maintenance personnel
- Answering customer questions in consultation with the Service Manager
- Coordinate customer spare part needs with Parts Manager
- Preparing company field service reports for OEM/Customer used to invoice for services provided by the company and suppliers, when applicable
- Assist/Inform supplier during installation, service and/or commissioning of equipment
- Speak with Service Manager regarding new developments to ensure knowledge of equipment and service history prior to going to job site
Field Service Representative: Field Service
- Assist customer by performing installation or service of spare parts or upgrades or PM services to custome equipment
- Inform customer of company’s new technology or service offering to benefit customer, when applicable
- Assist customer in re-building existing equipment
- Preparing field service report for future reference by company for later sales and service
Field Service Representative: Spare parts & Other responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading of spare parts shipments
- Cooperation with the Parts Manager regarding needs for spare parts inventory, service of remanufactured or retrofit equipment
- Giving feedback from customer to Sales department regarding the spare parts and/or design of equipment
- Maintenance of company vehicles not assigned to an employee
- Any miscellaneous task required for daily operation of company
- Support team by performing inventory of job related consumables both on hand an when used in the field
- Other duties as required by the General or Service Manager
Field Service Representative Requirements:
- Good customer service skills and professional appearance
- Comfort speaking as company representative with an operator, maintenance/department manager, or client’s company leadership
- Minimum 4 years experience in maintenance or service role
- Good Mechanical Aptitude and Strong Writing Ability
- Previous experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical system, and powertrain components, etc. associated with assembly and service of equipment parts
- Strong organizational skills and positive attitude
- Knowledge of inventory management, invoicing, and safe work practices
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
