The Security System Technician position provides technical tools to the Security and Risk organization. The position will ensure the robustness, reliability, and effectiveness of all technical security systems within Panasonic Energy Company North America (PECNA). This role encompasses the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security equipment such as access control systems, surveillance cameras, alarms, and physical barriers.
Additionally, this role will assist with analyzing local security risks, identifying vulnerabilities in existing systems, and proposing enhancements to fortify defenses to the Technical Security Manager. Collaboration with other stakeholders, including security personnel, facility managers, and IT professionals, is vital to ensure seamless integration of physical and digital security measures.
Essential Duties:
- Install and Commissioning: Efficiently install and commission access control systems, camera systems, and other physical security technologies according to established guidelines and specifications, within agreed-upon timeframes.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct weekly preventive maintenance and timely repairs on all physical security systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- System Upgrades and Enhancements: Stay updated with advancements in physical security technology and recommend upgrades or enhancements to improve system efficiency, functionality, and security levels.
- Emergency Response: Provide on-call support and promptly respond to security system emergencies, troubleshooting and resolving issues effectively to maintain continuous operation, primarily during business hours.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including service reports, documentation of changes, and system diagrams updates.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Security team, IT department, and external vendors to address system integration, interoperability, and connectivity requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all physical security systems comply with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and internal security policies. Conduct monthly compliance checks and report to the PENA security team.
- Training: Provide training and support to end-users and staff to ensure proper use and understanding of the physical security systems.
- System Testing: Conduct routine tests and performance evaluations to verify the reliability and accuracy of physical security systems.
- Policy and Procedure: Assist the Technical Security Manager in designing technical security related policies and procedures beyond those that already exist.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Basic/Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Essential Qualifications:
- 1-3 years in a technical security, or other similar technical role.
- Proven track record of proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting access control systems, camera systems, alarms, and physical barriers.
- Understanding of security principles, protocols, and industry standards related to physical security technologies.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with team members, security personnel, IT professionals, and vendors.
- Capacity to diagnose and resolve issues with physical security systems efficiently, often under pressure or in emergency situations.
- Meticulousness in conducting maintenance tasks, documenting activities, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of security systems.
- Dedication to providing excellent service to end-users and stakeholders, including training and support as needed.
- Willingness to stay updated with evolving security technologies and adapt to changes in job responsibilities and requirements.
- Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
- Ability to travel to the local site locations as needed
