As a Security Supervisor at MCH, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors. You will provide day-to-day supervision over the assigned area, making specific assignments, providing detailed instructions, and establishing short-term priorities. Additionally, you will monitor human, financial, and technical resources to ensure that the department/program meets the assigned goals.
Responsibilities:
Communication:
- Safeguard the environment for open and honest communication.
- Effectively communicate objectives, priorities, and deadlines.
- Utilize active listening techniques and express ideas clearly.
- Proactively engage in respectful and successful difficult conversations.
- Address interactions and decisions objectively, maintaining self-awareness.
Recruitment/Retention/Recognition:
- Recruit, recognize, and retain qualified staff reflecting organizational values.
- Assist in selecting personnel matching technical skills and leadership competencies.
- Enrich employees' work environment to support growth and recognize accomplishments.
- Align employees' talents, recommend exiting of unsuitable individuals.
Performance Management:
- Optimize performance through effective staff deployment and feedback.
- Implement training programs for security personnel, ensuring necessary skills.
- Provide direction, feedback, and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Demonstrate physical and emotional availability for effective management.
Staff Development:
- Develop staff along preferred career paths, aligning strengths with needs.
- Provide standards, expectations, and suggestions for improvement.
- Arrange stretch assignments and training to foster growth.
- Participate in discussions for talent development and succession planning.
Culture of Safety:
- Ensure a safe department environment free from hazards.
- Support open communication regarding safety concerns.
Resource Management:
- Coordinate department resources under managerial direction.
- Adjust resource allocation based on internal and external factors.
- Review and report financial variances to managerial personnel.
Patient/Customer Engagement:
- Utilize patient/customer information to enhance relationships and drive innovation.
- Collect and distribute feedback to appropriate stakeholders.
- Maintain a patient/customer-focused culture within the department.
Methods and Processes:
- Monitor departmental processes for compliance with established metrics and policies.
- Enforce organizational policies and procedures.
Community Engagement:
- Build positive relationships with the community, fostering safety and trust.
Reporting and Coordination:
- Ensure timely submission of fire, safety, and security reports.
- Coordinate safety and security inspections and investigations.
- Manage campus parking matters, including permits and violations.
Liaison and Coordination:
- Maintain liaison with all departments to address safety and security concerns.
