Overview
Credence Management Solutions, LLC (Credence) is seeking a Systems Security Engineer to support the Army Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PM PNT) System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) Program.
The Security & Program Protection Directorate requires program protection subject matter expertise (e.g. CPI and ICT critical component identification, supply chain risk management, anti-tamper, exportability features, secure design, and cybersecurity) to ensure adequate protection measures are incorporated across the entire PM PNT portfolio and throughout each product's lifecycle.
The PM PNT program provides administrative, business management, programmatic contracting, information technology (IT), program management, engineering, logistics, test and evaluation (T&E), training, operations, security, technology protection, foreign military sales, and acquisition and strategic planning services to the Army director PNT systems.
The SETA services provided to PM PNT shall support the planning, development, management, sustainment, and execution of the U.S. Army’s PNT portfolio. PM PNT provides coordinated PNT system of systems architecture and associated PNT products for the Army’s mounted and dismounted platforms. PM PNT is the Army’s lifecycle manager for the Mounted Assured PNT System (MAPS), Dismounted Assured PNT System (DAPS), Assured Protection and Alt Nav Technology Development; and the Resiliency and Software Assurance Measures (RSAM)., as well as any future PNT efforts in both the Contiguous United States (CONUS) and outside the contiguous United States (OCONUS).
This position is hybrid requiring 2-3 days on site in Aberdeen, MD.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below
- The System Security Engineer (SSE) will provide Technology Protection and engineering assistance to an Army acquisition program.
- Applies scientific and engineering principles to identify security vulnerabilities in hardware, software, or firmware, assesses risks, and develops mitigations associated with system vulnerabilities.
- Protects critical technology and recommends appropriate countermeasures and program protection strategies.
- Provides subject matter expertise in the SETR process and through each adaptive acquisition framework pathway.
- Key duties include:
1) Developing and maintaining PPPs
2) Conducting system decompositions and analysis to identify Critical Program Information (CPI) and Information-Communications Technology (ICT) Critical Components
3) Evaluating threat and vulnerability information
4) Conducting risk assessments
5) Developing countermeasures to reduce risks to CPI and ICT critical components
Education, Requirements and Qualifications
- An active DoD TS/SCI level security clearance is required.
Candidate must have a degree in Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity or similar- Master's Degree in a specialized field plus a minimum of 4 years of applicable experience; or, a Bachelor's Degree in the specialized field plus 5 years of applicable experience; or, a Bachelor's Degree in any field with a minimum of 7 years of specialized experience.
- Must have thorough understanding of engineering principles and analyze a wide range of technology principles.
- Must have familiarity with security requirements (e.g., anti-tamper, exportability features, supply chain risk management, secure design, defense-in-depth and cybersecurity implementation) required
- Must have DAU Courses such as ACQ 160 or ENG 260 or equivalent experience.
- This position is hybrid requiring 2-3 days on site in Aberdeen, MD.
Experience (desired):
- Experience developing, maintaining, and implementing Science and Technology Protection Plans and/or Program Protection Plans.
- Understanding of program protection security requirements, such as: anti-tamper, exportability features, supply chain risk management, secure design, defense-in-depth, and cybersecurity implementation.
- Working knowledge of DoD Instruction 5000.83, "Technology and Program Protection to Maintain Technological Advantage."
- Certifications (desired): Defense Acquisition University Program Protection Credential.
