Kavaliro is partnering with a client to find an experienced Security Engineer to safeguard their systems and ensure robust operational security. This vital role involves maintaining, improving, and designing security frameworks while addressing evolving threats.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure optimal performance of existing security frameworks.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, alerts, events, and user requests around the clock, 365 days a year.
- Perform daily tasks to maintain compliance with regulations and security standards.
- Review and revise security policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed.
- Stay informed about emerging security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve security issues and enhance overall security measures.
- Design and deploy new security technologies where appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience in information security.
- Expertise with security tools like NGFWs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, FIM, AEP/EDR, MDM, Application Defense, Web Proxies, RADIUS, and vulnerability scanners.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network protocols, encryption methods, and certificates.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
- Proficient in Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10/11.
- Foundational to intermediate understanding of Linux.
- Familiarity with Office 365 tools, including Defender.
- Strong grasp of security frameworks and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Strong time management skills and a willingness to continuously learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in environments subject to compliance standards.
- Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks and Windows GPO.
- Experience with Visio, switches, and wireless technologies.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
- Exposure to FIPS 140-2 Vaults.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
