Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Secretary/Technician for the Dental Department at Morristown Medical Center. Required hours are: 8:30AM - 4:30PM (M-F)
This role acts as a liaison between patients, families, visitors, volunteers and hospital personnel, efficiently coordinating the flow of patients, physicians and staff in a fast-paced patient care setting.
The selected candidate will be focused and flexible, willing to pitch in and assist as needed to meet the patient and department needs; must be proficient at coordination and organization of administrative duties to ensure efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of patient flow, and must promote the Atlantic Health System PRIDE Values.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Gather and input charts and prior authorizations and print remits for Medicaid and insurance.
- Check for denials daily and communicate with dental residents about appeals and approval status for dental work.
- Collect and input patient payments into Dentrix and manage foundation case information as needed.
- Track and log attending dentists’ schedules and lecture topics and handle surveys and office supply orders.
- Schedule, confirm and re-arrange patient appointments.
- Track Performance Improvement (Chart Audit) on a monthly basis.
- Answer phones promptly identifying self with proper telephone etiquette and direct callers appropriately.
- Make all changes and adjustments to patient ledgers.
- Chairside assist four handed dentistry and expanded functional duties as needed.
- Perform laboratory procedures, including taking and pouring models, documents incoming and outgoing lab cases., stocks ED and OR carts.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- RDA License or Hygiene License required.
- To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
Relevant Experience:
- Prior experience as a Registered Dental Assistant preferred.
- Prior experience with dental billing in a dental setting preferred.
