Police Secretary I
The Borough of Millersville is seeking applications for the position of Police Secretary I. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Under general supervision, this position classifies and enters police data into computer database; provides clerical support to the Chief of Police; ensures timely transmittal or processing of information and efficient organization of department data; and provides professional courtesy to office callers and visitors.
Requirements: Any combination of education and experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed below. An example of acceptable qualifications for this position is completion of a high-school diploma or the equivalent, and one year of secretarial experience. Police Department clerical experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will also have:
• Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices.
• Skills in computer data entry and tying.
• Ability to respond calmly to angry, upset or frightened persons and act quickly in emergent situations.
• Ability to code, classify and transfer information accurately to record.
• Ability to guard confidentiality of documents.
• Ability to operate office equipment,
