Responsibilities
Are you ready to make an impact? Peraton is seeking a Secretary in Fort Irwin, CA to support our team to support our Deep Space Communications Network Services Contract (DSN) with NASA.
Under general supervision, capable of performing all jobs including the most complex. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognize the need for occasional deviation from accepted practices. The supervisor provides specific instructions on new assignments and checks completed work for accuracy. Performs varied duties including or comparable to the following:
Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing daily office tasks such as filing, recording, maintaining records, copying, posting, and other similar duties, using a computer terminal
- Skilled in the use of the MS Office Suite, predominantly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Provide assistance in support of assigned GDSCC programs. as EHS Committee, Wellness, Safety Alert Program and Bloodborne Pathogens
- Establish and maintain databases/programs related to health, safety and environmental documentation such as training, building inspections, and close calls.
- Follows organization and department procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Operates office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and PCs.
- Setup Video Teleconferencing (VTC) meetings using dedicated capabilities/equipment, or web-based applications such as Microsoft Teams
- Greetings visitors, answers telephone, directs calls and takes messages.
- Inventories and orders materials, supplies, and services.
- Opens, sort and route incoming mail, prepares outgoing mail, receives incoming packages.
- Responds to routine telephone requests which have standard answers; refers calls and visitors to appropriate staff
- As instructed, maintains supervisor's calendar, makes appointments, and arranges meeting rooms
- Reviews materials prepared for supervisor's approval for typographical accuracy and proper format
- Data entry for Maximo (Computerized Maintenance Management System – CMMS) Work Orders (WO), to include WO creation, closure and quality assurance of data integrity
- Assist Maximo Database Analyst in review and correction of Maximo work orders
- Assist with work order metrics
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 4-5 years of relative experience.
- Familiarity with Maximo Computer based Maintenance Management System.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft products.
- Must possess and retain a valid California driver's license.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and procedures without direct supervision.
- Good communications skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to undergo a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC). In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
Desired Qualifications
- Type 45 wpm.
