Secondary Marketing Trading Analyst I - United Wholesale Mortgage

:

The Capital Markets Trading Analyst will support the day-to-day trading of Agency MBS specified pools and TBAs. The Trading Analyst create and implement new processes and procedures, identify data-driven opportunities to enhance our hedging and execution strategies, and support the continued growth of our trading operations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Utilizing data to ensure the Company’s mortgage loan pipeline is forecasted, tracked and hedged properly within the market
• Researching market data from our broker dealers, third party data vendors, and other sources to implement enhanced processes with our trading team
• Providing Management with ongoing information about relative value, market sentiment, trading environment, trading volume and price volatility
• Developing and provides metrics on trading and execution
• Provides Capital Market team members with daily market updates
• Performing business analysis to identify opportunities to make our processes more efficient and identify solutions to grow and evolve our trading strategy
• Overseeing secondary market duties that aid in the selling and purchasing of loans, streamlining existing processes to facilitate loan sales.
• Scheduling and participating in calls with broker dealers to build relationships and enhance profitability.
• Developing solutions to streamline/automate existing processes and recommend process improvements to improve the efficiency of the capital markets team
• Securing buy-in and influence change at all levels through gaining trust with excellent verbal communication, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills
• Researching ad-hoc requests, develop proposals and work with necessary teams to implement solutions for programmatic resolution

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or applicable area
• 2+ years of trading or modeling experience in Agency MBS specified pools & TBA
• Strong understanding of mortgage capital markets, mortgage-backed securities and whole loan purchases and sale
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications with Advanced Excel skills
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong work ethic, self-motivation and drive
• Familiarity with software programs and analytics used in mortgages; experience working with QRM a plus
• Experience with database and reporting software such as Hyperion or SQL
