SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager

Our client, a technology company located in the Bay Area, is looking for an experienced SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and wants to contribute to a growing organization. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and be involved in high-level financial reporting and technical accounting. This position is hybrid, requiring in-office attendance in Milpitas 3 days per week, with plans to move to Fremont/Newark in approximately six months.

Responsibilities
· Monitor, research, and evaluate new accounting standards, and communicate impacts to senior management. Lead process changes as needed to respond to new requirements.
· Manage periodic review and assessments for complex accounting areas, including business combinations, debt, impairment, restructuring, and stock-based compensation.
· Analyze and apply complex accounting standards to transactions, developing solutions, and communicating results to stakeholders.
· Prepare internal and external financial reports, including board packages, ad hoc reports, and SEC filings; draft SEC disclosures for complex accounting areas.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Tax, FP&A, Sales, Operations, IT, and Legal to deliver timely and accurate reporting.
· Manage projects across multiple workstreams to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are documented.
· Liaise with external auditors to ensure effective audit execution.

Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 5+ years of accounting/finance experience with a strong technical accounting background and thorough knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
· Active CPA license required.
· 3+ years of experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm preferred.

Compensation:

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $150K - $160K per year.
