Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SEC Reporting Manager to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our SEC filings and other regulatory reports. This role will involve collaboration with various departments to gather necessary information, preparation and review of financial statements, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- SEC Filings: Prepare and review all SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required documentation. Ensure all filings are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Financial Statements: Oversee the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEC, FASB, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Ensure all reporting practices adhere to current standards.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly and annual audits, ensuring the timely provision of requested documents and explanations.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with SOX 404.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting, finance, legal, and investor relations teams to gather necessary information and support various reporting requirements.
- Research: Conduct research on complex accounting and financial reporting issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SEC reporting function.
- Training: Train and mentor junior staff on SEC reporting requirements and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in SEC reporting or public accounting with a focus on SEC clients.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements. Proficiency with financial reporting software and ERP systems.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across different departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large public companies or large public accounting firms.
- Advanced knowledge of financial reporting tools and software (e.g., Workiva, Hyperion).
- Experience with XBRL tagging and submission.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require occasional overtime during peak reporting periods.
