Overview
As a member of our Parking Staff, you’ll play a vital role in welcoming guests and ensuring smooth and organized parking operations. Your primary responsibilities are greeting customers, tracking parking availability, keeping lots full, directing traffic flow, and answering guest questions. Additionally, you’ll maintain the cleanliness of parking areas by removing trash or debris.
The ideal candidate is a friendly, reliable individual who enjoys interacting with guests and working outdoors. Organized, safety-conscious, and adaptable, you can manage parking flow and address guest needs efficiently, even in a fast-paced setting. You are a team player who takes pride in keeping parking lots neat and orderly and are ready to contribute to a welcoming and positive guest experience.
Reports to: Manager, Parking Operations
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival and provide a warm welcome to enhance their event-going experience.
- Track parking availability, directing guests to open spots and keeping lots efficiently filled.
- Direct traffic flow within parking lots to maintain a safe, organized environment.
- Answer guest questions regarding parking, directions, and general event information in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Ensure parking lots remain clean and tidy by picking up any trash or debris.
- Monitor and report any safety issues, maintaining a secure environment for guests and staff alike.
- Collaborate with members of the Parking team to ensure smooth operations across all lots.

Desired Experience, Skills, & Abilities
- Background in customer service is highly desirable, with strong communication abilities to engage with guests effectively.
- Able to track parking availability and keep lots organized, with a focus on safety.
- Candidates must be available for early mornings, late nights, and weekends throughout the 16 days of Stock Show (January 11th-January 26th), with shifts up to 12 hours per day. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work the entire event period.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing and walking for extended periods, and able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Fluent in English, with clear verbal communication abilities; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a proactive commitment to maintaining a safe, clean environment.
Working Conditions
The National Western Complex is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor commercial and agricultural complex where dusty conditions and animals may exist. While performing the duties of this job, work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain, on varied surfaces. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with large crowds.
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a seasonal, hourly position with a pay rate of $19.00/hour.
- Paid sick time offered at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
- Shift differentials offered – earn more for working nights!
- Opportunities to transition to regular part-time positions may be available after the Stock Show.
