PLEASE NOTE: This is a seasonal position for the month of January 2025, with some positions starting in late December. Individuals in this role will be required to work every day January 5th-January 26th, up to 12 hours per day. Additional work may be available the week following Stock Show, January 27th-January 31st.
Day- and night-shift opportunities available.
Overview
As a Parking Office Attendant, you will oversee the check-in and check-out processes for Parking Staff, helping to keep our team organized, equipped, and ready for success. Your primary responsibilities include checking in staff at the start of each shift – ensuring they are clocked in, distributing safety vests, radios, and light wands, and providing daily assignments. You’ll also manage transport coordination for staff assigned to distant lots and monitor any call-outs.

Calm under pressure, you manage equipment, assignments, and attendance efficiently, helping ensure smooth operations across our parking lots. Reports to: Manager, Parking Operations
Duties & Responsibilities
- Check in Parking Staff at the beginning of each shift, ensuring they clock in and are provided with all necessary equipment (safety vests, radios, light wands, etc.).
- Assign staff to designated parking lots and provide clear instructions on their responsibilities for the day.
- Coordinate transportation for team members assigned to remote lots, ensuring they arrive promptly and safely.
- Monitor staff attendance and call-outs, adjusting staffing as needed to ensure coverage in all lots.
- Check out Parking Staff at the end of each shift, collecting equipment and ensuring accurate time records.
- Collaborate with Parking Management to address any staffing needs or adjustments throughout the day.
- Maintain a clean, organized Parking office, with equipment properly stored and ready for daily use.

Desired Experience, Skills, & Abilities
- Proven ability to manage check-in/check-out procedures and track staff equipment and assignments accurately.
- Background in customer service or team support roles is preferred, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Candidates must be available for early mornings, late nights, and weekends throughout the 16 days of Stock Show (January 11th-January 26th), with shifts up to 12 hours per day.
- Candidates must have the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Fluent in English, with clear verbal and written communication abilities; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Quick to adapt to changes in staffing needs, with a proactive approach to ensuring smooth operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Parking Staff and Management to create a supportive, well-organized environment.
Working Conditions
National Western Complex is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor commercial and agricultural complex where dusty conditions and animals may exist. While performing the duties of this job, work is performed both indoors and outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain, on varied surfaces. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with large crowds.
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a seasonal, hourly position with a pay rate of $19.50/hour.
- Paid sick time offered at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
- Shift differentials offered – earn more for working nights!
- Opportunities to transition to regular part-time positions may be available after the Stock Show.
