PLEASE NOTE: These are seasonal positions for the month of January 2025. Individuals in this role will be required to work every day January 11th-January 26th, up to 12 hours per day. Only applicants with previous experience with the NWSS Guest Relations Department (staff or leadership) will be considered for these roles.
Day- and night-shift opportunities available.
Overview
As a part of the Guest Relations leadership team, you’ll play a vital role in managing, supporting, and guiding our Guest Relations Staff to deliver top-notch customer service across the NWSS grounds. Positions available include Team Leads, Assistant Supervisors, and Supervisors, each tasked with overseeing a specific area and ensuring department functions are carried out seamlessly. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Guest Relations and NWSS Leadership, you’ll help solve issues as they arise and actively enhance the guest experience.
The ideal candidate is a dedicated, solutions-oriented leader with a passion for creating positive guest experiences and guiding teams to success. Known for your ability to communicate effectively and remain calm under pressure, you bring a positive attitude to all situations and are driven by a desire to make every guest interaction memorable and pleasant.
Reports to: Senior Manager, Guest Relations
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of Guest Relations Staff, coordinating daily assignments, monitoring performance, and providing on-the-spot guidance and support.
- Serve as a point of contact for escalated guest inquiries, ensuring high levels of service and a positive experience.
- Work with the Senior Manager, Guest Relations to address and resolve operational issues, keeping guest satisfaction at the forefront.
- Maintain effective communication between Guest Relations Staff and senior leadership to relay updates, address concerns, and adjust staffing as needed.
- Ensure that entry gates, guest service posts, and other guest-facing areas are properly staffed, organized, and operating according to company standards.
- Foster a collaborative, positive team environment and assist in training team members as necessary.

Desired Experience, Skills, & Abilities
- Must have prior work experience with the NWSS Guest Relations Department; previous supervisory experience in customer service, events, or hospitality preferred.
- Ability to mentor and manage a team effectively.\
- Ability to address and resolve issues promptly, always with a focus on enhancing the guest experience.
- Fluent in English with clear and confident communication abilities; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Candidates must be available for early mornings, late nights, and weekends throughout the 16 days of Stock Show (January 11th-January 26th), with shifts up to 12 hours per day.\
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and foster a positive environment for team members.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage time and resources efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and moving between posts as needed.
Working Conditions
National Western Complex is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor commercial and agricultural complex where dusty conditions and animals may exist. While performing the duties of this job, work is performed both indoors and outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain, on varied surfaces. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with large crowds.
Compensation & Benefits
- These are seasonal, hourly positions with an hourly pay range of $21-$23.
- Paid sick time offered at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
- Shift differentials offered – earn more for working nights!
