Summary:
Duration : 12 Months +

Pay Rate : $ 35.00 on W2/Hr.
This position is suited for a flexible, highly organized, personable, and self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ability to clearly communicate, multi-task, and have good business acumen is necessary, as well as to quickly learn new skills under guidance. It will require approximately half time working actively at the bench, and the other half supporting lab activities. This is subject to change, as demand fluctuates.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the sourcing and order maintenance of biological samples using company-dedicated channels (i.e Science Exchange), starting from the initial request all the way to the completion of the order.
- Maintain exquisite and highly detailed records of samples, issues, revisions and communications involving the scientific staff, sourcing and procurement, finance and vendors.
- Communicate daily or weekly with vendors and end-users to coordinate the receipt of samples, address issues, and changes in preferences or availability.
- Keep track of current orders, balance of funds available, and approve and cross-check invoices.
- Facilitate the disposal of lab equipment, repairs and action items from special projects supporting the lab environment.
- Participate in maintaining lab safety culture through attendance to safety committee meetings, and audits. Summarize and communicate findings to the department.
- Contribute to the development and execution of cell-based assays to assess potential therapeutics or biology of targets, utilizing such techniques as flow cytometry and plate-based immunoassays. Working with potent compounds and biohazardous materials will be required.
- Maintain a detailed and accurate record of experimental procedures and outcomes.
Quals--
- BA/BS or MS degree (not looking for PhD) in physical or biological science or a related science and 2 or more years of relevant work experience.
- Passionate for accurate, detailed, well-maintained and orderly record keeping and work-style.
- Demonstrated proficiency with mammalian cell culture using excellent aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with in vitro cell-based assays.
