TITLE: SCHOOL PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP AND PENNSAUKEN CAMPUSES
Deadline: This position will be filled in no less than ten (10) days after the date of this posting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Twenty-Five (25) or more years of documented experience as a Federal, State, County, or Municipal Law Enforcement, Sheriff and/or Corrections Officer.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
- Experience responding to emergencies, providing security, public safety, and other demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate with the school community, especially high school students, regarding matters of public safety and security.
- Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Meets the health qualifications required for all personnel.
- 7. Meets NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate to NJ within 365 days of employment.
- Must follow the guidelines of the Camden County Technical Schools Nepotism Policy, File Code: 0142.1.

POSITION GOAL: To collaborate with district/school administrators, faculty, staff, students, and families to promote a positive, safe, and secure learning community.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor assigned per the CCTS’ Organizational Chart
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide supervision and security, along with assigned staff, of student and staff parking areas.
2. Provide morning and afternoon monitoring of student and staff arrival and departure including school bus operations.
3. Facilitate, along with school/district administration, implementation of the Crisis Response Plan including facilitating drills and emergency response procedures.
4. Facilitate the processing and administration of the student, staff and visitor sign in and identification systems.
5. Operate, maintain and review the school district buildings and school bus video security system as required.
6. Maintain, inventory and distribute staff communication devices.
7. Provide security for school activities.
8. Serve as a first responder to security and other incidents as directed by school and district administration.
9. Provide consultation and advice to school and district officials on methods of increasing security in and about school premises.
10. Act as a liaison with public safety authorities on matters affecting school security.
11. Maintain a security log and prepare reports as directed.
12. Conduct security related investigations as directed.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor per the CCTS’ Organizational Chart/or designee.
