About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join our team and contribute to the enhancement of our special education programs in alignment with IDEA and state guidelines. As a valued member of our Special Education leadership team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance, fostering effective programming, implementing interventions, and promoting parent involvement.
Responsibilities:
Administer a comprehensive range of assessments, including cognitive, achievement, social/emotional, adaptive, and autism spectrum evaluations for students.
Analyze and interpret student data to formulate recommendations for appropriate services within both regular and special education settings.
Communicate individual test findings and recommendations sensitively and effectively to parents, particularly those considering placement in special education programs.
Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to maximize students' educational development through informed placement and educational management.
Develop a school mentor program aimed at supporting students' social-emotional development.
Provide guidance and recommendations to parents regarding students' learning potentials, achievement levels, and personality adjustments, while also offering avenues for further professional assistance.
Offer recommendations based on psychological findings in various placement scenarios, including exemptions, retentions, accelerations, and more.
Prepare and submit special education data promptly upon request and contribute to the review of incoming students' records to ensure compliance.
Attend IEP Meetings as the LEA representative as necessary and uphold the school's Child Find Process in compliance with ADE regulations.
Assist in maintaining the accuracy of the school's special education census and stay abreast of developments in school psychology, educational practices, and special education law.
Develop and deliver professional development sessions for all staff members to enhance their support capabilities.
Undertake any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid Arizona School Psychologist certificate and license.
Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Previous experience as a teacher or school counselor is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and education demonstrating comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
