About the Job
The Schauer School of the Arts offers classes in 4 areas of dance, as well as theater, music and visual arts. This position serves as primary administrator for the Schauer School of the Arts and related outreach activities. Parental and Teacher relations are an integral part of this position. This full-time position requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule including evening and occasional weekend hours.
Position Responsibilities:
-Manage the Schauer School of the Arts (SSA) including, but not limited to, curriculum development, instructor recruitment, class scheduling year-round, policy and procedure development, coordination of SSA productions and outreach.
-Monitor the SSA budget and plan accordingly.
-Serve as Schauer Center liaison to parents of SSA students and to the general public.
-Assist with special events and projects as identified and requested by the Executive Director.
-Assist with ticketing services and work with Ticketing & Office Manager on class registration processes and procedures so that Box Office staff is able to respond knowledgeably and effectively to SSA inquiries.
-Pursue outreach collaborations with local schools and other programs to take arts into the community.
Work Requirements and Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree in Arts Management, Arts Education, a specific genre of the arts or other related field preferred.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) required.
-Familiarity with Theater Manager or other specialized ticketing and registration software, and/or willingness to learn required.
-Strong oral and written communication skills required.
-Highly organized, self-starter, detail oriented required.
-Experience with parents, teachers, and students with the ability to react quickly and communicate effectively in time sensitive situations preferred.
-Strong organizational, administrative, and analytical skills required.
-Teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop good relationships with internal and external contacts required.
-Demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for the arts essential.
