Job Description
The School of Nursing at the University of Indianapolis is seeking applicants for a full-time Undergraduate Program Director position. The Program Director reports to the Associate Dean and is the first-line administrator within the program area responsible for the planning, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all instruction and related program management activities.
In collaboration with the Associate Dean, the Program Director has responsibilities and duties that include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain effective communications throughout the program by a system of regular meetings, written communications, utilization of committees, conferences, and other group management strategies.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate annual goals, objectives, and related activities, based on the needs of the program, unit, and school for improved performance.
- Assign, supervise, and evaluate full- and/or part-time program faculty.
- Ensure the program and curriculum offerings are in full compliance with the requirements for accreditation, certification, and other standards stipulated by appropriate external agencies, including, but not limited to, the Indiana State Board of Nursing.
- Supervise and evaluate the operation of all classes being conducted within the assigned function of the program.
- Ensure instructional resources are being utilized efficiently and effectively and that the program’s mission is being met.
- Teach assigned class(es) as determined by the needs of the program and as approved by the Associate Dean.
- Assume other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the Associate Dean.
The ideal candidate will possess the following required minimum qualifications:
- Current unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Indiana.
- Must have baccalaureate and master’s degrees in nursing, doctorate education preferred.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years full-time experience teaching in undergraduate nursing program(s) with recent managerial experience preferred.
- Curriculum development and project management experience desired.
