This is a new FT position for the school year. Position ends early to mid-June 2025 with the possibility of continuing into future school years. Part time work also available during summer months.
$27 per hour, 40 hours per week for remainder of '24-'25 school year

SUMMARY:
The Prevention Supervisor provides supervision, administration and monitoring of Prevention programming in multiple school buildings in school districts served, which may vary year to year. The Prevention Coordinator provides direct service as a Student Assistance Program (SAP) Liaison for specific school buildings to be determined at the beginning of each school year.
This position is FT, exempt, for ten months per year: September to June. Exact dates are determined at the beginning of the school year. Additional part time hours may be available as needed during summer months. Annual employment confirmation letter will be provided.
JOB DUTIES:
Administrative/Supervisory
- Supervises PT Prevention staff who provide evidence-based Prevention lessons in classrooms throughout the school districts served. This includes at-least monthly individual supervision and monthly group supervision, and consultation for emergent situations such as last minute scheduling changes.
- Assists with hiring of Prevention staff including screening, interviewing, and reference checks
- Orients and trains new and returning Prevention staff in current and new prevention programs and required documentation
- Completes annual employee evaluation with each assigned staff member
- In consultation with designated school staff, schedules Prevention lessons in each school as per each district’s contract. Assures staffing for each lesson and troubleshoots any scheduling issues or changes
- Maintains contact with school representatives and assures that Prevention programming corresponds with the contracted needs and expectations of each school district and building
- Consults with Devereux Center for Effective Studies and WestEd Justice and Prevention Research Center to assure fidelity to the various Prevention programs presented and ongoing coaching for staff
- Works with West Ed to proactively request in advance pre and posttests for each scheduled program; trains staff in required program evaluation tools & requirements; ensures appropriate AYSB staff implementation of all evaluation tools
- Conducts regular check-ins with West Ed throughout the year re: status of AYSB West Ed pre and posttest effective use & implementation and Second Step teacher follow-through re: Dessa Mini completion pre and post Second Step lessons
- Observes staff presenting Prevention lessons to ensure appropriateness for students and fidelity to each program; completes Observation Form each time and shares with WestEd, Devereux Center and AYSB’s ED in timely fashion; each staff member is to be observed at least twice per school year
- Obtains demographics for each classroom receiving Prevention lessons and provides to AYSB office to ensure appropriate billing
- Obtains survey links specific to each school and program and ensures that pre and posttests are completed for each prevention lesson per contract expectations
- Ensures that satisfaction surveys are sent to teachers/students/parents as per contract expectations
- Solicits feedback from each school regarding specific program impact and staff effectiveness - both during and after each scheduled site program series of lessons and/ or scheduled programs; this is accomplished through email with site liaison, which is shared with AYSB’s ED in a timely fashion
- Maintains statistical information per each school site and provides reports as scheduled and requested
- Attends Devereux Coaching sessions, all county required meetings/ trainings, bi-weekly supervision, and participates in Back to School Nights, school-based parenting presentations and district in-service presentations both as a program presenter and participant as requested
- Proactively and promptly relays all Prevention staffing, scheduling issues and programming concerns to AYSB's ED
- Collaborates with SAP Program Coordinator re: shared staff and school site issues
- Other job-related duties as assigned
Direct Service:
- Provides SAP individual and group services to students at assigned schools, assuring parental permission is obtained and documentation is completed as per contracted and agency requirements
- Communicates with supervisor and appropriate school personnel regarding any cases of concern for the safety or wellbeing of any student
- Provides SAP screenings and follow-up reports for assigned students
- Attends SAP meetings at assigned schools
- As assigned and as needed, presents evidence-based Prevention program lessons in classrooms; administers contracted pre and posttests where applicable
- Obtains and documents a minimum of 12 training hours each year
- Completes weekly billing documentation fully and accurately
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in social services or counseling field required; familiarity with Prevention programming preferred
- 5 years of experience providing behavioral health services to students in a school setting
- Ability to work in various school and office settings, sometimes sharing space with school staff
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to assure coverage at parent/school and other events
- Reliable transportation required for travel between schools and between schools and agency
- Willingness to schedule PTO usage to coincide with school calendar
