Scheduling Coordinator
Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab Center is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator/Unit Assistant to join our dedicated team. LNA preferred but not required. At least one year of previous scheduling experience in healthcare/skilled nursing preferred. This position is for 32 hours a week.
Responsiblities of Scheduling Coordinator:
- Partner with Director of Nursing, Human Resources and Administrator to complete staffing schedule for coverage of all units to ensure safety, best practice and staffing requirements are met. This includes coordinating all requests for time off, meeting schedules, and leaves of absence.
- Coordinate appropriate coverage for “call outs” for each scheduled shift in a timely fashion and alert the Unit Manager and/or Director of Nursing regarding vacant slots for upcoming shifts.
- Assist in the assembly of new charts for patients and residents to support efficient assessments of new admissions.
- Audit new admission charts to ensure that resident picture is in electronic medical record, and that all required paperwork is available for completion by nursing team.
- Assist in scheduling appointments for residents as ordered by medical providers. This includes coordinating schedules for staff to accompanyresidents as appropriate, and coordinating transportation to ensure timely arrival to appointments and return to the building.
Requirements of the Scheduling Coordinator:
- High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
- LNA license and current CPR certification preferred
- At least one year of previous scheduling experience, preferrably in skilled nursing
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation.
- Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
- Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
- Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
