As a Scale House Operator your primary role is to operate and monitor the assigned scale house truck weighing, data entry, maintain record keeping and company systems, in accordance with established procedures and policies in a safe and efficient manner
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees the proper day-to-day scale house and fuel receiving operations and maintain adequate systems
- Operates and monitors various truck weighing, receiving, quality control equipment, and systems
- Maintains a clean and orderly scale house grounds and equipment within the assigned areas of responsibility
- Prepares and maintains various files, logs, and records
- Assists plant administration and personnel as necessary
- Coordinates weight tickets tied to bill of ladings, sales orders, and purchase orders
- Enters weigh tickets into the data base in necessary systems
- Participates in necessary trainings on the different plant systems: This includes training on scale systems, plant
- safety qualification procedures, heavy equipment qualifications and operations
- Interface with operations and other company personnel to ensure compliance requirements are met
- Cross trains other company personnel of scale house operations as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual is preferred
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Basic knowledge of safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft programs
- Must demonstrate effective decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation
- Ability to work occasional overtime, including holidays and weekends
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to follow safe work practices and wear all required personal protection equipment for the task (safety glasses/shield, hardhat, safety boots and gloves)
- Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers
- Must demonstrate effective decision making, results delivery and team building
- Must demonstrate strong ethics and interpersonal skills
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in an environment with chemical handling, heavy equipment, rotating machinery, confined spaces, and incipient fire suppression is preferred
