A Cole Valley neighborhood bar serving amazing cocktails and west coast comfort food.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join Cole Valley Tavern. You should be a seasoned line cook that will focus on saute, but open to learning and executing all positions of the line. The Saute Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes that require sautéing, ensuring high-quality and delicious meals for our guests. This role requires precision, creativity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
The positon available is for Friday through Tuesday evenings, 3pm to close.
Job duties
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes that involve sautéing techniques.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of sautéed items by following established recipes and cooking standards.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of sauté ingredients, ensuring freshness and availability.
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new sautéed dishes and contribute to menu planning.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as sauté pans, stoves, and other cooking appliances.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff in sautéing techniques and culinary best practices.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and continuously seek ways to enhance sautéing skills and knowledge.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Saute Cook or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of sautéing techniques and methods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional dishes.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
