About the Job
We are seeking a Functional SAP Consultant for a long term (3 year) contract. This role will require 1-2 days onsite in Columbia, SC.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
We have implemented SAP Finance, Material Management and HR. We are leading the efforts to report our finance & HR data with our existing systems, KPIs as well as with historical archives. We have a current SAP BI Platform and SQL Server SSIS implementation that needs ongoing Operations, Maintenance, Changes, and Enhancements as well as architectural leadership as we goes through major data reporting changes and needs.
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within project schedules and other defined deadlines, candidate will provide functional and technical services including:
• Performs both high level and detailed requirements gathering, documentation and analysis.
• Works integrally with senior financial management and budget staff to ensure reporting needs are met,
• Reviews system designs and proposes/makes improvements to ensure reliable, efficient operations
• Meets and coordinates with staff at the Department of Administration to ensure that agency data needs are understood and met.
• Ensures that all relevant servers and software are secure and patched.
• Manages and coordinates vendor support for problem resolution.
• Analyzes, develops, modifies, installs, tests and maintains software.
• Evaluates vendor supplied software packages and makes recommendations to IT management. Modifies and/or debugs vendor-supplied utilities and packages.
• Modifies, installs and prepares technical documentation for system software applications.
• Diagnoses, isolates and de-bugs software problems and performs problem resolution.
• Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures and provides Tier 2 technical support.
• Designs reporting architecture and platform configuration requirements to meet the high demand for analytical, operational, and compliance reporting.
• Architects reporting data structures from data sources, both relational and non-relational.
• Refines report and dashboard requirements with project team members, finance and HR subject matter experts, and executives.
• Extracts and Loads data from diverse sources with MS SQL Server SSIS packages and model analytic infrastructure.
• Designs, prototypes, develops, tests and implements SAP BusinessObjects 4.2+ IDT universes, Web Intelligence reports, Dashboards and/or Crystal Reports to meet those requirements.
• Assists in source data investigation plus helps design/refine data models and strategies into an integrated, high performing data warehouse design, allowing for robust reporting and analytical capabilities.
• Develops and executes unit, system and user acceptance test plans
• Resolves technical and business issues
• Helps mentor finance and HR staff and executives on BI Launchpad, Web Intelligence & Crystal Reports for Enterprise
• Helps maintain and upgrade SAP Business Objects Intelligence Platform, Crystal Servers and Data Federator as appropriate
• Works closely with network, database & system administrators.
• Provides technical knowledge transfer via paired programming, peer coaching, and written documentation.
• Provides effective and timely oral and written communications to management, peers and users
• Identifies and escalates issues and risks to management in a timely manner.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Experienced with installation and configuration of SAP Business Intelligence software
• 3+ years of experience in developing and implementing universes and Web Intelligence reports
• Experienced in developing and implementing Dashboards
• Experience in designing MS SQL Server SSIS packages and writing Sql queries.
• Able to interpret and document business requirements, develop technical specifications and test processes to meet requirements
• Able to formulate technical resolutions to business issues
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Able to work closely with others in a team environment
• Able to work independently, self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Experience with BusinessObjects Tools and Data Federator
• Experienced in full lifecycle of data warehouse delivery including analysis, design, dimensional modeling, development, testing, implementation, training and support
• Familiarity with major industry relational and non-relational database management systems
• Proficient with MS Office tools (e.g. Word, Excel, Visio, Project)
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelors in IT, Business or equivalent experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
MCSA, MCSE, SAP CERTIFIED APPLICATION ASSOCIATE,
