Sanitation Manager - Erlanger, KY
The role of Sanitation Manager is to lead the sanitation, GMP & pest control agendas across the Erlanger Campus.
To support manufacturing to fully embed best hygienic practices across the site in compliance with WFSI sanitation standards. The role will require cross functional relationships to be built with the Quality, Engineering & Manufacturing functions in order to successfully deliver the sanitation agenda.
Responsibility to review and approve the internal and contracted cleaning schedules/plans and pest control plans to ensure they are in line with Quality Policy requirements. To champion GMP compliance through engagement, audits, coaching and leadership. To support the site Quality compliance plan to help drive a culture of everyday Quality compliance. To engage with the wider Sanitation community within WFSI in order to bring best practices into the plant.
Responsibilities:
+ Maintain & develop the Quality Policy compliance standards with regards to sanitation & pest control.
+ Provide coaching & knowledge with regards to pest control, sanitation, allergen control, & sanitary design.
+ Responsible for training and development of operational sanitation related activities, including SSOPs, MSS and sanitation record review.
+ Support operations in the effective use of chemicals and cleaning of equipment and development of production changeover and cleaning control procedures.
+ Support the sanitary design & GMP elements of new & existing project developments.
+ Lead the cleaning validation Program and approval across all cleaning disciplines.
+ Lead Sanitation and Environmental Monitoring Program investigations (non-conformance, complaints, audits etc). Facilitate root cause activities and support CAPA creation in sanitation related issues.
+ Generation of sanitation performance indicators identifying outstanding risks to supply management. Drive sanitation improvement, reduce sanitation cycle time and cost reduction initiatives.
+ Support the site manufacturing teams and Quality Manager in preparation of customer quality audits.
+ Support and Lead the Erlanger GMP internal audit program. Drive alignment in to close out GMP audit findings.
+ Manage the Erlanger Sanitation Coordinator & develop the sanitation team.
+ Develop the sanitation and pest control agenda by working closely with the 3rd chemical, equipment, sanitation and pest control providers.
+ Supports the safety program, assures compliance to safety rules and coach employees to be successful.
+ Participates and provides leadership to the Performance Excellence program.
+ Know the legal and compliance responsibilities of the position; lead ethically and model compliant behavior; maintain an environment where employees are encouraged to speak up without fear of retaliation; ensure employees in area of responsibility understand the compliance responsibilities of their jobs and actively participate in the compliance program.
Qualifications
Required:
+ Science/Food Science/Engineering degree
+ Practical application of cleaning practices
+ 1-3 years leadership experience
+ 3-5 years sanitation experience
+ Confident influencer.
+ High level of energy and drive for results.
+ Systematic and structured
+ Drives high standards and expectations
+ Tenacity and resilience
+ Ability to engage others and drive change
+ Background in Quality and Hygiene
+ Broad understanding of food or appropriate FMCG manufacturing operations business and quality management systems.
+ Thorough knowledge of the GMP and sanitation rules within a food production environment.
Preferred:
+ Quality Auditing, risk assessment and rationale writing experience, HACCP knowledge
+ Hygienic design knowledge.
