Sanitation Manager

Job Summary:
Directs and manages general sanitation activities of the plant.
Primary Job Duties:
Plans and manages a master sanitation schedule in accordance with governmental, company and customer standards.
Assigns and directs work of sanitation employees and any contractemployees.
Adheres to Baltimore city pollution control regulations.
Plans and manages insect/pest control program.
Develops and maintains applicable records (EPA, etc.).
Delegates work request for sanitation tasks including office, warehouse anddistribution center work assignments.
Adheres to food safety standards developed by the client.
Maintains external and internal appearance of client buildings.
Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual
Harassment, Safety, etc.)
Approves all disciplinary actions for subordinate staff and sits in on all
disputes.
Trouble shoots mechanical problems, plumbing and hydraulics.
Formulates chemical concentrations such as general cleaner and sanitizers.
Safety:
1) Maintains safe working environment for all employees/contractors.
2) Participates in the development, implementation and enforcement of
safety program.
3) Participates in accident investigations.
4) Promote employee safety in all areas of operations.
5) Maintains membership on Safety committee.
Sanitation:
1) Ensures sanitation personnel maintain cleanliness of the work area.
2) Ensures proper G. M. P. s are followed at all times.
Other related duties as assigned by Plant General Manager or ownership.
Essential Job Functions/Requirements:
Experience: Prior experience in plant sanitation (three years preferred).
Demonstrated knowledge in pest control and other requirements.
Sanitation Manager
Education: High school diploma or equivalent or a combination of experience & technical training. Licenses as required by the state, county, city or industry.
Must be certified by Maryland Department of Agriculture.
Maintain Food Service Manager Certification through Baltimore city.
Maintain PCO certification (Pesticide application/Baiting and Insect
Identification).
Must possess a valid license to operate forklift.
Must possess a valid driver s license in the state of Maryland.
Physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant. Must be capable of reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling as required in a production operation.
Able to climb ladders, crawl under equipment and work in tight spaces.
Able to generate written and verbal communications clearly and distinctly.
Able to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.
Able to research, develop, implement and monitor required policies and procedures.
Able to generate advanced, detailed reports via spreadsheets, memos/letters, email, etc. using a PC.
Performance of other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.
