responsibilities:

Role Overview:

As a Tax Compliance Manager in our SALT service line, you will play a pivotal role in leading teams and managing client engagements focused on state and local income/business tax compliance and controversy matters. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading teams of tax professionals in client engagements, overseeing all aspects of state and local income tax compliance and dispute resolution.
• Conducting high-level reviews of federal and multi-state income tax returns and related work papers.
• Analyzing state filings to identify and mitigate errors, minimizing penalties and interest.
• Coordinating with external service providers to ensure consistent filing positions and procedures on large engagements.
• Managing state notice and refund processes, providing organized and comprehensive reporting.
• Conducting research on state and local tax issues and staying abreast of changes in tax law.
• Managing major project initiatives for clients, such as Pass-through Entity Tax programs.
• Mentoring team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
• Facilitating effective communication with engagement partners and fostering strong client relationships.

 
qualifications:

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in State and Local Income Tax compliance.
• Experience with taxation of flow-through entities, with private equity experience, BIG 4 experience highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• CPA license is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in project management and research.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
