Overview
The Area Salon Leader is responsible for the following:
- Growing service and product sales year over year
- Managing P&Ls with heavy focus on scheduling for labor budget and controlling inventory with product ordering
- Team building for each salon
Job Duties

- Recruit and maintain productive salon staffs at locations in region
- Develop salon staff by providing direction and coordinating training ● Motivate Production
- Effectively Execute Salon production process- Revenue Minus Payroll (RMP) ● Effectively Execute Salon Inventory Management Process.
- Conduct weekly salon check ups
- Influence Efficient resolution of Maintenance Issues/Request (send & follow up on trouble tickets until issues are fixed).
- Assist with Resolving IT Requests (Internet, Phone, POS, CC terminal, Camera, Computer, Receipt Printer).
- Help supervise & coordinate property improvements, salon maintenance services, and new technology tool implementation in salons.
- Ensure chemical release form vs. chemical services in the market are compliant. ● Conduct new hire follow ups for market employees
- Professionally participate in company and regional meetings and reports ● Supervise/manage cycle counts in market salons.
- Satisfy payroll/ops report & issues requirements related to market employees.

Qualifications
- Ability work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to provide exceptional guest service, understanding the guest's needs, providing quality consultations and performing services requested in an efficient and professional manner.
- Ability to perform administrative tasks such as completing schedules and transactions on the computerized register, performing close-out procedures and light housekeeping duties (Banking Procedures, Inventory for salons, staff meetings).
- Ability to resolve guest issues
- Ability to effectively lead and develop a team, creating a positive work environment, training and providing guidance on business and technical competency matters and resolving associate issues
- 5 years management experience in Beauty Industry
- Ability to travel daily and overnight stays when required

Essential Functions Development of the Team:
- Minimum of one on-site meeting monthly with each Salon Leader using the YSG 1:1 ● Responsible for creating a culture consistent with our YSG values and mission. Build necessary business relationships and create an environment of development. Responsible for building a high performing team that works together to achieve results. ● Recruit and train Salon Leaders and Stylists. Partner with Salon Leaders to ensure that stylists receives coaching and training to continuously improve their skills and service levels.
- Ensure a high level of employee satisfaction through strong leadership with the objective of retaining the best talent and consistent performance management rhythms. ● Coach and communicate with Salon Leaders to develop Stylists for promotion to Salon Leader positions.
- Develop Salon Leaders for promotion to other leadership positions.

- Ensure that performance management is executed through recognition and coaching. Document important conversations. Measure performance and provide coaching as necessary. Terminate non-performing Salon Managers and other staff as needed.
- Ensure that technical training is provided as necessary to increase performance and guest satisfaction.
Reporting & Responsibilities:
- Accurate data reporting for scorecards, personnel management, and budgets. ● Must ensure the market is partnering with HR on performance management, disciplinary concerns, hires and terminations within 24-48 hours of the incident.
- Must meet monthly business rhythm timelines for the scorecards, personnel management, and budgets.
- Performance management rhythm to increase sales and profit of the business. ○ meeting Wal-Mart operating hours requirement in all salons

○ consistent daily, weekly, monthly coaching and recognition
○ 1:1 documentation monthly that supports growth and development in all salons. ● Ensure you coordinate PTO and absences with OM to ensure there is always continuity of leadership for Market Personnel.
- Perform in a manner that gets satisfactory marks on the Area Leader Role outcomes checklist weekly.
Profit and Loss (P&L) Responsibility:
- Achieve sales, profit and expense goals in all salons that you directly supervise. ● Influence positive RMP results
- Train Salon Leaders on P&L/ RMP responsibilities.
- Utilize management information tools and analyze financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in salon performance.
- Share opportunities with company leadership to improve P&L results based on experience and observations to improve practices.
Merchandising:
- Execute IMT satisfactorily.
- Ensure that salons are visually set following YSG's direction and that promotional displays are coordinated and executed.
- Ensure that merchandise is replenished, and inventory is managed through cycle counts and budget awareness. Coach Salon Leaders on these responsibilities for their salons.
Guest Experience:

- Maximize employee hours through schedule reviews and maximizing optimization. Schedule to the needs of the business to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, sales performance and expense management.
- Coach to brand specific service expectations (Moments of Truth, 360, Customer Consultation). Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Handle and resolve customer concerns and issues as needed and within 48 hours of receiving.
Salon Experience/Administrative Tasks:
- Ensure Salon Leaders are keeping up with the cleanliness and maintenance of their salons along with all compliance requirements applicable to state and local sanitation rules. ● Enforce and promote all YSG policies, procedures and work rules.
- Ensure Salon Leaders are following closing procedures that are adhered to by all staff and that daily bank deposits are being made.
- Ensure that the assets of each of your directly supervised salons are protected and that asset protection policies are adhered to.
- Ensure other salon tasks related to salon operations are completed by staff, including but not limited to answering telephones, stocking shelves, taking cycle counts/inventory, and other duties as assigned.
- Ensure all staff licenses are current, valid and posted as required.
- Ensure all items required by state and federal law are posted in all salons as directed by the company.
- Maintain and uphold safety standards
Performance Expectations:
- Meet minimum professional standards of KPI's as outlined on Scorecard for this role. ● Repetitive poor performance on scorecard KPI's (results lower than outlined minimum professional standards) will result in progressive negative consequences such as performance improvement plans, reduction in compensation & territory, demotion, and loss of role.
- Repetitive excellent performance on scorecard KPI's will result in positive consequences such as earned RMP and Quarterly bonus, potential increased compensation, increased territory size, scope of role influence and compensation opportunity.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for sustained periods of time
- Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds
