POSITION SUMMARY
USG is seeking an experienced Salesforce Solution Architect to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in driving our Customer Experience strategy from a technology and data standpoint.
As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for the integrity and strength of the solutions we build on our Salesforce platform. You will be acting as a trusted advisor to our team and business partners, and an effective mentor to your colleagues. You will need a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform and be an expert in process design.
You will always work cross-functionally, including Sales, Service, Marketing, and IT, to connect company processes making Salesforce the key interaction platform which is to evolve in a user-centric manner enabling our business objectives. Your outstanding people skills enable you to get your ideas and solutions across to stakeholders and gain integrity to get your visions built into successful solutions. This role is critical to USG drive customer intimacy, the productivity of the commercial teams and enable USG to maximize value of the investment in the Salesforce platform and adjacent technologies.
USG is evolving its plan on customer experience and this role is critical for translating this objective in a sustainable technology roadmap. We will require a seasoned professional that can support the evolution of goals and objectives, along with potential ambiguity as the role is evolved based on the individual’s experience and skillset.
Minimal travel may be required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expert in Process Design and Enhancement: Leverage your deep understanding of Salesforce technology and best practices to enhance every step of the organizational utilization of the Salesforce platform. The process design will cover all aspects of the Salesforce platform (Sales, Service, Marketing) and connection into adjacent company processes.
- Conduct research into the use of Salesforce, producing a report of findings with recommended steps and a roadmap for Salesforce solutions.
- Lead Business Process reviews, including the composition of process flow and business process documentation, and the development of proposed “to be” models.
- Collaborate with colleagues and the Salesforce professional services team to create prototypes and proofs of concept as a means of eliciting and defining requirements.
- Review solutions and recommend improvements for enhancements supporting business needs and scalability requirements
- Contribute to refinement of the Salesforce product backlog, in liaison with stakeholders on the project and collaborate with Salesforce Backlog Manager
- Guide the design of Salesforce and (optionally) other affiliated solutions for Sales, Service, and platform solutions.
- Data Strategy and Integrity: based on the business objectives you bring in your platform expertise to improve the current data management approach and integrate the data strategy, reporting and analytics needs into process design
- Configuration: Liaise with the Salesforce Admin Team Manager and the IT development team approving configuration and coded items to be deployed between environments. - Where appropriate, this could include deploying change.
- Best-Practice: Develop standards together with the relevant stakeholders
- Provide guidance on user story writing style.
- Ensure success and acceptance criteria are defined for each story.
- Describe and illustrate designs with appropriate justifications.
- Ensure documentation of the steps for testing.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in technical discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering preferred.
Required Skills
- 5+ years experience in IT Transformation, Data Center Optimization, Enterprise Architecture, IT Governance
- Be seen as a “guru” in cloud platforms
- Have breadth and depth in Cloud platforms – Applications and/or technology
- Experience in domain-specific architecture concepts and emerging technologies
- Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture capabilities and ecosystem including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud.
- Strategic thinker and problem solver: Strong business analysis skills with the ability to identify key gaps in process, investigate themes or issues, and strategically recommend solutions to problems with often limited information.
- On top of Salesforce technology roadmap and expert in establishing and maintaining best practices throughout the life cycle of a platform.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to communicate with the development team.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies.
- Highly organized managing to meeting results in budget and promised time.
- Ability to work with sensitive/confidential information. Demonstrated high level of integrity and ethics.
Preferred Skills
- Certified Salesforce Certified Technical Architect CTA, Salesforce Certified Solution Architect or Salesforce Certified Data Architect certification is a plus.
- Certified Salesforce Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Platform App Builder.
- Experience in the Manufacturing/Construction industry.
- Experience with Oracle CRM solutions.
- Prior consulting experience.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
