Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide technical expertise in leading large complex, strategic initiatives. - Analyze functional applications, design specifications and documentation for functional activities. - Responsible for the translation of detailed design into application systems. - Manage software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and tools. - May estimate software development costs and schedule. - Provide guidance, coaching and training to lower level professional staff. Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in related field required. - 10-12 years of relevant professional experience required. - Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

The Salesforce SME must design, develop, and articulate solutions based on strategic business and technical requirements. The Salesforce SME will work with program managers, technical peers, clients and business partners to ensure appropriate and cost-effective solutions are adopted. The candidate must have full life cycle experience and progressive leadership in software development activities, including hands-on and progressive experience in performing customizations, configurations and integration of the Salesforce platform.
The ideal candidate will have a good foundation of Salesforce and its offerings including vertical offerings like Sales, Service and Marketing clouds. Should have experience in Salesforce Community customization and configuration. The candidate must demonstrate a willingness to learn new offerings including AI capabilities from Salesforce and overcome technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will provide design, and implementation expertise to a cross-functional software development team and be capable of leading a technical team. Should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share knowledge with team members.
Role is hybrid with primary workplace for this position will be in Tysons Corner, VA with occasional travel to project sites as needed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Meet with stakeholders to understand requirements, determine design and perform gap analysis to identify appropriate deployment strategy
- Architect, configure and customize Salesforce application/solution as per business requirements and expectations using out-of-box features and Salesforce platform (force.com)
- Clear understanding of integrating Salesforce application/solution using natively available integration techniques like REST/SOAP etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in implementing large scale enterprise solutions including integration and data migrations.
- Design and configure communities including coordinating UI/UX/508 compliance/security activities
- Capable of responding to RFI/RFQ/RFP along with architecting, estimating, sizing and pricing in coordination with proposal team and Salesforce.
- Able to build demo solutions as requested by Sales/Business Development team and participate in orals as necessary.
- Evaluate, ensure and recommend appropriate solution is leveraged like Platform vs Service cloud
- Brainstorm solutions, conduct architecture and design reviews to support internal teams as well as end clients.
- Follow best practices and continuous improvement process to identify future upgrade issues and design considerations
- Demonstrate breadth of knowledge including Tableau, Einstein Analytics, MuleSoft and latest offerings from Salesforce.
- Lead a team of Salesforce developers and admins along with multiple project.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering from an accredited college or university; Additional experience would be considered in lieu of degree
- At least ten (10) years of related experience; Twelve (12) years preferred
- At least five (6) years of Salesforce experience and 5+ years in IT
- Excellent verbal and written communication to technical audiences, non-technical audiences, and senior management
- Solution Architect experience on implementation projects using Agile approaches
- Federal Salesforce implementation experience preferred along with securing ATO with federal agencies
- Excellent understanding of Salesforce architecture, declarative capabilities, platform configuration and related limits and how they influence design
- Experience integrating with 3rd party solutions using industry standard techniques like REST and experience in using integration tools like MuleSoft
- Supervisory experience in leading Salesforce developers and admins
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect required
- Salesforce Certified Technical Architect desired
- Experience in architecting solutions that are aligned with Contact Center capabilities are preferred with tools such as Success KPI, AWS Connect, Service Cloud Voice and Salesforce Service Cloud

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment.
